How often should a vehicle exhaust gas analyzer be reverified?
This question is asked quite frequently by our clients, so in response, we will quote a fragment of an article available on the website of the Central Office of Measures, titled: “Legal Metrological Control of Exhaust Gas Analyzers in Spark-Ignition Engines.”
“An instrument that has been placed on the market based on type approval is subject to reverification every 6 months.
In the case of analyzers placed on the market under the conformity assessment law, the instrument must be submitted for reverification for the first time within 1 year, and thereafter every 6 months.”
With a slight simplification, it can therefore be assumed that an analyzer should be submitted for reverification every 6 months.

There you will find a list of the main legal acts regulating the reverification of analyzers. You will also learn what exhaust gas analyzers are, which methods are used in analyzers to measure exhaust gases, and what requirements analyzers must meet. It is also worth checking how the reverification process is carried out.
